Suwon- a fortress city close to Seoul, accessible via bus. It is such a beauty and a perfect day hike. When we went it was humid but the hike was flat and scenic, so it wasn’t too bad.
The “blueprint” (if I can even call it that) for a mountain area in Korea is predictable- mountain, temple, markets down the road. Yet at the market below the fortress, there was an archery competition and lots of street vendors selling snacks. I remember seeing some colorful murals as well. At least this one stood out (for those of y’all living in Korea, you get what I’m saying). I said this before, but after years in Asia, while I appreciate the beauty, I got templed out, real fast. Now in Europe, I’m castled out. 😉
